#TYKUN XII: The Superyacht Tender That Gives You Back the Rarest Luxury — Time
For years, the tender was little more than a service craft. That role has changed: the chase boat is now a protagonist of life on board — and choosing one no longer means settling for a compromise.
Historically, owners had to pick between RIBs (rugged, fast, but rarely as refined as the mothership) and limousine tenders (sleek, but limited in versatility). Italian builder TYKUN was created to close that gap, with a boat that extends the quality and comfort of the mothership without sacrificing capability. As Benedetta Iovane, Head of Commercial & Brand, puts it, the aim is a chase boat that fills a real market gap while staying easy to manage.
Behind TYKUN stands MED Group, with over three decades of engineering and more than 400 military and patrol vessels delivered in the past decade. Iovane developed the concept alongside designer Tommaso Spadolini, pairing sophisticated styling with professional-grade construction. The semi-custom range, built in 5083 aluminium, is light, agile and high-performing — as the TYKUN X proved at the Monaco Yacht Show 2025, staying out in rough weather for dry sea trials while capable of 50 knots.
The new TYKUN XII (12.9 metres) is the fleet’s flagship. Offered in Low Bow (Walk Around) and High Bow configurations, with a carbon hardtop, fold-down bulwarks and a cabin with separate shower below deck, it works as a destination in its own right. Paired with twin 600hp outboards it exceeds 50 knots — time reclaimed for breakfast in Monte Carlo, lunch in Calvi and a swim off the Îles d’Hyères, all in one day.
TYKUN will present the TYKUN XII at the Monaco Yacht Show 2026 this September, as the official tender for Royal Yacht International, with lead times of just six months.
