Teaching at ITS Caboto is one of those things that reminds me why I chose this industry. ⚓

Two intense days with the second class of Yacht Designer Operators: we went through several topics, from market data (did you know Italy holds 51% of global superyacht orders?) to the design philosophy of the names who have shaped and continue to define this world.
We explored the legacy of Jon Bannenberg, Tim Heywood, Espen Øino, Terence Disdale and Andrew Winch, along with the work of the leading designers who represent the industry’s excellence: Igor Lobanov, Studio Vafiadis (Giorgio & Stefano Vafiadis) , Tommaso Spadolini, Luca Dini, Francesco Paszkowski, Nuvolari Lenard (Carlo Nuvolari & Dan Lenard), Valentina Zannier, Alberto Mancini, Achille Salvagni, Stefano Pastrovich, Giorgio M. Cassetta, Officina Italiana Design (Mauro Micheli & Sergio Beretta), Zuccon International Project, Andrea Vallicelli, Hot Lab, Nauta Design, Hydro Tec (Sergio Cutolo), Fulvio De Simoni and Filippo Salvetti.
The journey concluded with luxury marketing, where my technical background meets the storytelling side of this world. On the second day, I had the students test themselves through a case study I prepared to assess how they had absorbed this mix of history, technique, and creativity.

Caboto trains around 200 students every year, offering them the unique opportunity to alternate academic lessons with hands-on experience. Alongside Yacht Designers, the Academy prepares future Captains, Chief Stewards, and Class Surveyors.
